The Bellaire Coin Club is a recognized leader in numismatic education in the community. Our regular educational programs are designed to convey interesting facts and insightful stories about coins, paper money, and numismatic history, all in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Many of the presentations are enhanced through the use of our clubs Video Microscope, which allows the presenter to show, up close, many features on a coin via a live color video display, allowing the audience to instantly share the history behind the coin. Each presentation is held at our regular twice monthly meetings, at the Bellaire City Library, 5111 Jessamine, and will typically last between 20-40 minutes. Our current schedule of programs at the Bellaire Coin Club: Next meeting Announcement - Greetings to one and all of the Bellaire faithful. This note is going out a little late, but at least it is going out. It has been a wonderful weekend filled with nice weather, so of course that has to be loused up by a Monday. At least we have each other as a mutual support group to get through that horrible change.
And support each other we shall. We have survived another show, and it seems
to have been a raging success. But before we get too lazy, let's not forget
that we have a summer show coming up in August. It's OK to take a few days
off, but then we have to once again start taking care of the details that
will make the August show as successful as our Coin Week Show. Until then,
we will have a Show & Tell for this meeting. Bring in one the treasures you
were able to acquire at the show. Brag on your shopping abilities that
allowed you to spot that particular item. Or, for those that had to miss the
show (shame on you!), tell us about another item that has crossed your path
and has ended in your clutches. This is braggin' time - bring something to
brag about.
The meeting will start about 6:15, maybe a little later. It all depends on
how much we have to do, and how many lots are in the auction. No door prize
drawing will happen before 6:30, so don't worry about missing anything if
you can't get there by 6:15. The business will be followed by the S&T. This
will then be followed by the usual auction and the much anticipated
ceremonial flashing of the lights.
The Usual Suspects Numismatic Study Group will then reconvene at Jax
Grill. Don't forget the informal bourse before the meeting.
If this can be pulled off, then happy days will be here again, and the evil
that is Monday shall be overcome. Come join your fellow coin nerds this
Monday.
